NTI@Home provides Quality Virtual Staffing

Leave of Absence Policy

A leave of absence (LOA) is defined as an unpaid approved absence from work for a specified period of time for medical, parental, military or personal reasons.

An employee must provide 14 days advance notice when the need for the leave or absence is foreseeable; for instance, if medical treatments or other events are planned or known in advance. If the leave of absence is not foreseeable, the employee must provide notice to his or her immediate supervisor as soon as practicable.

To request a LOA, an employee emails the request to Human Resources at NTI , as well as their Supervisor. A medical LOA should be substantiated by a doctor's note faxed to 617-977-9570, Attn: Director of Human Resources. This note MUST state that you are unable to perform your job duties as an at-home teleworker and be received within three business days of your first missed day of work.  The note must have a beginning date and an expected date of return. Due to the nature of the staffing business, open-ended doctor notes with no return date will not be accepted.

While on LOA, an employee must contact the NTI Human Resources department at least every 30 days. Failure to contact HR every 30 days may result in voluntary termination.

The ability to return to work from a medical LOA must be documented by your physician and faxed to 617-977-9570, Attn: Director of Human Resources.

Upon the expiration of the leave, the employee may be returned to his or her former position if available. If the employee's position is not available, the employee may be offered another available position for which he/she is qualified. If no position is available when the employee is able to return to work, the employee will be terminated and may apply for the next available position.

Depending on the length of time away from work and the performance rating of the employee at the time of the LOA, varying degrees of training may be necessary in order to meet the core requirements of the job. NTI will consider an employee's return to work on a case-by-case basis.
