1. Can you give me an overview of the NTI application process?

Completing your application. Your first step is to complete our online application. Completing the application demonstrates that you're familiar with your computer and the Internet.

The application will ask you to attach your resume. If you don't have a resume and aren't sure how to write one, view this guide for help. We need only a simple one-page resume. You can submit your resume in any of the following formats: Microsoft Word (.DOC or .DOCX), Notepad Text (.TXT), rich-text format (.RTF), Adobe PDF, or HTML.

If you're a client of your state's vocational rehabilitation (VR) agency, make sure you have your counselor's name, phone number, and email address before you begin your application.

Interview. NTI will respond to every application by email with information on how to call for your interview. Please call to conduct the interview from a quiet location.

Training. After the interview, NTI may schedule you for NTI Certification Training. The Certification Training FAQ page on our site describes the different types of training we, or other employers, conduct. If selected to move forward in the application process, you will be required to complete 4 days of NTI Certification Training. We provide the training at no charge to you.

Determining eligibility. While you are completing NTI's certification training, NTI will verify that you are eligible for our positions. If you have a state VR agency counselor, we will contact him or her to verify that they will be willing to pay NTI in the event we are able to match you with a position.

Follow-up timing. Once you successfully complete NTI Certification Training, and your eligibility for our positions has been confirmed, you will receive your login information for our Career Website. There you can view and apply for one of our current openings. Once you apply for a position, you will be contacted within 10 business days by an NTI recruiter.

NTI can't predict whether it will take a few weeks or months to find a suitable match. If you have no special restrictions, such as the need to work only during certain parts of the day or fewer than 20 hours per week and you are otherwise a good candidate with a pleasant telephone manner, comfortable using a computer, and some type of customer service experience, it is likely that NTI will be able to eventually match you with one or more opportunities.

When we contact you about a particular job opening, you'll need to move quickly to obtain one of the available slots. The number and type of job orders we receive varies from week to week.

2. If I want to apply for more than one position with NTI, do I have to fill out more than one application?

No, you need fill out only one application for NTI to consider you for additional positions.  Submitting more than one application will only slow your application process.

If you no longer have your login information for our Careers Website, please email recruiting@ntiathome.org.

3. Do I have to complete a background check?

The majority of call center employers require applicants to pass a background check. NTI will inform you if a check is needed for a particular position.

Some employers will not consider candidates with any kind of criminal record. Others are more flexible and will consider the particulars of the situation.

4. Can I fax or mail my resume?

No, we cannot accept faxed or mailed resumes.

You must complete an online application through our website. After you fill in the blanks on the application form, the website will require you to attach your resume. You can submit your resume in any of the following formats: Microsoft Word (.DOC or .DOCX), Notepad Text (.TXT), rich-text format (.RTF), Adobe PDF, or HTML. A simple one-pager will do.

5. Can I send an updated version of my resume if have already submitted an application?

Yes, you can. Please email it to recruiting@ntiathome.org.

6. I applied last year and got turned down, but would like to reapply this year. Should I fill out a new application?

No, you do not need to fill out another application for NTI to consider you again this year. Submitting a second application will only slow down your application process. If you would like re-apply, please apply through the Careers Website.

7. Did NTI receive my application?

After you submit a complete application and resume, you will receive an automatically-generated confirmation email to the email address you submitted in your application. This email will contain your application ID number.

If you do not receive a confirmation from donotreply@ntiathome.org, check your junk folder to see if your spam filters marked the email as spam. If you find the confirmation email in your junk mailbox, adjust your spam filters to accept email from ntiathome.org.

If you did not receive that email, NTI did not receive your application. Please submit a new application at your earliest convenience.

8. What is the status of my application or background check?

If you email recruiting@ntiathome.org, we will look up your account for that information and email you an answer. Please allow up to 3 business days to receive a reply.

9. I applied months ago and did not receive any job matches. How can I ensure that NTI is still trying to match me with a job?

You do not need to complete another application. Email recruiting@ntiathome.org and ask them to confirm you are listed as an active client seeking home-based work.

10. I have changed my address/email/phone number. Who should I notify?

If you are working as an NTI employee or if NTI has placed you with another employer, fill out the "Employee Contact Information Change" form located in the "Employee Section" of the NTI website. HR will then ask you to complete a specific form.

If you are not an NTI employee or if NTI has not placed you with another employer, email your updated information to recruiting@ntiathome.org.

11. How much will I be paid?

Compensation differs for every position. However, most jobs start at $8.00-$10.00 per hour. Some that require special skills or supervisory experience pay $11-$15 per hour.

12. Can I make my own hours?

Your work hours will vary depending on your position. Most employers will require you to be available during specific shifts. Others will allow you to make your own hours as long as you meet certain productivity measures. The more flexible you are, the easier it will be for NTI to match you with a position.

13. Why did I get turned down for a particular job?

There are many different reasons why you may have not been selected for a particular job. In general, candidates are rejected for positions due to lack of experience, poor voice quality, lack of technical skills, or unprofessionalism.

Some employers give behavioral tests that attempt to identify applicants who are likely to be honest and reliable and have the kind of pleasant, helpful personality suited to customer service work. Although some employers will tell NTI why they rejected an applicant, others will just select the applicants they want to hire without commenting on the applicants they don't want to hire.

14. I am an applicant/a new hire, but I have decided not to follow through with the job. What should I do?

Email hr@ntiathome.org notifying us of your decision.
