    When you call NTI, you'll either be transferred right away to your eMentor, or you will receive an email to schedule your Welcome Call. During this Welcome Phone Call, you and your eMentor will discuss your background, skills, and work goals. 

    If you need some preparation in computers and/or typing before you take the next step--the Preliminary Skills Assessments--your eMentor will suggest resources you can use. These can be local, or online self-study courses available free through NTI.

Definitions and special terms

eMentor

A counselor assigned to you when you register with NTI@Home. They know our program well; all of them completed the same training you'll be taking. They’ll provide encouragement along the way, answer your questions, and practice interview skills on request. They're also great listeners.

Preliminary Skills Assessment (PSA)

is a series of brief, online tests that tell us your strengths in computer knowledge and typing.
